NYT's article highlights a Dallas Housing Authority demonstration program
Today, the New York Times published an article highlighting a demonstration program at the Dallas Housing Authority which started in 2011 as part of a settlement of litigation with housing activists. Housing choice voucher recipients receive more money to use the voucher in more expensive neighborhoods and cuts subsidies for those who do not go. The article links the Dallas program to economist Raj Chetty's research that is supposed to demonstrate that where children grow up shapes their prospects as adults. The article takes a balanced look at the advantages and disadvantages of the Dallas program.
