The D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) released its Fiscal Year 2014 (FY14) Annual Action Plan on September 13. The highly anticipated plan serves two fundamental purposes. First, it presents DHCD’s request for federal funding from HUD. Second, the plan outlines how DHCD would use those federal dollars during FY 2014. In essence, DHCD reveals its priorities and strategies for next year.
According to the plan, DC “…seeks to provide activities…that promote equal opportunities to a suitable living environment, decent housing and economic development.” The plan focuses its stated priorities are intended to benefit low- and moderate-income people and families.
